Strongly aromatic and warm, caraway seeds, or caraway fruits, as they are often called, are used widely in Southern German and Austrian cuisine. Be it meat, vegetable, or rye bread, caraway lends the characteristic flavors to these ethnic foods. Caraway is in the parsley family.
